...wollte ich mal von meinem Me-Projekt eine kleine Pause nehmen, damit es auch wieder die Gwens Weltblicke gibt:

Auf der letzten langen Heimfahrt rausgefunden warum es aus Frankreich niemals gescheite Actionfilme geben wird bzw. warum es immer „Kulturfilme“ bleiben werden:

Die Sprache eignet sich nicht für Aktiongeladene Handlung oder sowas!

Wenn einer übers Haus des obersten Amimenschen redet und dann über „maison blanche“ redet klingt das doch echt nach Nachtisch oder höhere Kochkunst oder sowas!

Well, da kucke ich mich doch gerade bei Kettenschwinger um bei den Links (die nur rechts zu finden sind) mich umzusehen und finde mich doch selbst - cool.

(Und dabei wollte ich gerade lachen - hmm muss ich mir wohl selbst einen Witz erzählen;-)

Witzig auch was man so als Feedback hört: einige finden vor allem meine ausländisch angehauchte Rechtschreibung lustig...

Well, hauptsache lachen.

Meine erste eigene Liste neben “waiting for” ist am Start: die “Übersetzungsliste” und Sie hat im Augenblick 8 Kleinprojekte drauf – Tendenz steigend. Jetzt noch die diffusen Webseitenzettel in Listen und die Strukturaufgaben listen.
Achja und es gibt wegen einem Überfluss an Zetteln in meiner „In“-box in der eigentlich 1 mal pro Tag gar keine Zettel mehr drin sein dürften eine „Heute“ Mappe in der die Zeddels landen, die ich heute zu schaffen gedenke.

Das Buch zur Methode ist in Englisch, daher habe ich alle Berichte auf Englisch geschrieben: es ist dann einfacher in einer Sprache zu bleiben. Heute liegt das Buch zuhause und die Feiertage dazwischen haben mich dann doch wieder eingedeutscht;-) Es wird wohl eine Kauderwelsch werden…

Zettelvorteil – der Vorteil von den Zetteln ist, dass ich jeden Tag die Aufgaben vor Augen hab, die ich sonst lieber verschieben würde als: “noch nicht so wichtig” oder “hm gerade keine Lust drauf (und noch nicht so wichtig)”. Wenn die Aufgabe dann gemacht ist, dann ist das doch ein sehr angenehmes Gefühl, wenn der Zettel dann auf immer in der runden Ablage verschwinden können.

(Der Ur-spruch wurde glaub ich mittlerweile für alles genutzt, oder?)

Sinking into more papers because I decided for the low-tech and low-startcost paper alternative for this organisation-method I find it still difficult to create more list than the mere “waiting for” list the system wants anyway. This is mostly because almost all my work is conducted on the computer. But I suspect that in a few weeks the list will emerge automatically. For I liked to review the “waiting for” list an tick things off or start some action according to it and I think that will work MUCH better than the stack of papers that currently inhabit my desk and inbox.

The hunt for the two minutes.

It appears that two minutes are both longer and shorter. You are familiar with this: Some tasks need longer and I thought they would be short and vice versa. What I also find is that I actively HUNT for tasks that are only two minutes short – it looks better at the end of the day if “much more” is accomplished.

I´m not going to ask myself what this says about my frustration-threshold ;-)

Got me the table that is going to serve as workstation (Thanks BigS) and saw some papers sorted. But due to long weekend nothing else happened (Also I miss some folders that are waiting for MEMO to process the order for them…)

of really putting into practice what I´ve read about saw the bottom of the inbox. (Only work, mind).

Still some papers are not sorted properly because I can not yet estimate easily how much time this item will cost and until when it should have been done completely. Timemanagement will be also one thing I will lear here much better than before.

Sometimes I find that all the books I read in my freetime sometimes yield benefits for my real life – in implementing this organisational method I find that one of the Dune books helped me: in one book the son of Paul Atreides says to a woman of the order something like: The distinction between a good and a bad administrator lies in five heartbeats. A good administrator can decide in five heartbeats what needs to be done.

Well I´m not counting heartbeats but being reminded that decisions on what to do with the things that come up need to be made on that instant helps me to implement this method.

In implementing this method I often have to decide what something means: can I put an action on it, is it something for reference, does it require work less than 2 minutes – what? And then I don´t put it back onto the stack and think – I will decide later but I decide.
