The ME Project
Got me the table that is going to serve as workstation (Thanks BigS) and saw some papers sorted. But due to long weekend nothing else happened (Also I miss some folders that are waiting for MEMO to process the order for them…)

of really putting into practice what I´ve read about saw the bottom of the inbox. (Only work, mind).
Still some papers are not sorted properly because I can not yet estimate easily how much time this item will cost and until when it should have been done completely. Timemanagement will be also one thing I will lear here much better than before.

Sometimes I find that all the books I read in my freetime sometimes yield benefits for my real life – in implementing this organisational method I find that one of the Dune books helped me: in one book the son of Paul Atreides says to a woman of the order something like: The distinction between a good and a bad administrator lies in five heartbeats. A good administrator can decide in five heartbeats what needs to be done.
Well I´m not counting heartbeats but being reminded that decisions on what to do with the things that come up need to be made on that instant helps me to implement this method.
In implementing this method I often have to decide what something means: can I put an action on it, is it something for reference, does it require work less than 2 minutes – what? And then I don´t put it back onto the stack and think – I will decide later but I decide.
So: Thank you DUNE.

…Of the „Me“-project: I spent the whole morning shooting down two minutes tasks and put everything else in the “pending” file I created. Well – finally pending has got to go away but since I cannot spent two whole days back-to-back with this (as recommended in the book ) it might take longer until my In-box is empty.
I found myself full of energy because finally something moved. I´m not yet comfortable with my “pending”-file but I hope to have that resolved by the end of next week.
Interesting will be if I can integrate the private life and worklife lists with each other in a satisfactorily way.
Sidenote to the start of this project:
The me-project started obviously with me. At the moment I seem to get (eu and not so eu-) stress from every corner: private-life, work and another corner in which I´m organizing a course for someone else (more or less successfully…)
During the course of this year I got recommended twice the same organizing book which I try to implement in this project.

Upon wanting to start this project I find myself not quite able to compress all the ideas and „wants“ I have with this project in a few sentences. I want to imporove myself and just think about “me” first – I found that in the past years of my life I´ve taken too readily commitments that I couldn´t keep or couldn´t finish satisfactorily (at least to myself).
So instead of a big: “mine-mine-mine” oder “meins-meins-meins” project this is about me being able to do all the things I want to and am committed to without burning out. The aim is almost a bit like a Zen-Koan: Being better in the outside world by caring for my internal world.
Inspired by some financial blogs from America I will start here my “diary” of personal progress on the “me” project interspersed with the usual “Through-Gwens-Eyes” worldview.
